Relay Season registration, with important points on availability and duties

Relays are a highlight for our Centre and we've had a proud tradition of strong participation and great success over the years.

We kick off the season with Mentone Relay Day on Sunday 15th November - only a month away!  We have the full set of races for U9 and older, 4x100m for U8 Athletes and our lunchtime Shuttle Relay for U6 and U7.

The following weekend our U9 and older teams will be at Frankston LAC for the Southern Metro Region Relays Carnival.  Successful teams will then progress to the State Relay Championships at Lakeside Stadium on Saturday/Sunday 12th and 13th December.

Please note these very important points to help us organise these events:

  • It’s essential that you register interest in relay season.  Please click here for the registration form and remember to repeat the form for each child participating.

  • By registering, you are making the commitment that your child will be available for all events they qualify for.  It is VERY hard for our Team Managers to re-arrange when Athletes become unavailable at the last minute.  We have posted the draft timetable for Mentone Relay Day here, however timetables for Regions and States are not yet available.  At States, U9-12 will be on Saturday and U13-17 will be on Sunday.

  • U9 and older families are also making the commitment that you will perform duties of approx. 2 hours per day, per child participating.  Relay events, especially Mentone Relay Day, require a lot of help from us all.

  • Once registered, please communicate with your Team Manager using Team App.  They'll organise teams and training sessions.

  • Organising relay teams can be stressful for our Team Managers and everyone involved.  Please always be respectful, understanding and cooperative.

Go Mentone!
