Round 13 - This Saturday 28. February

This Saturday, we’re running a slightly modified Program 1. We will include the 1500m races at the start of the second session.

  • U6 - U8 families: Please arrive by 8:15am for warm-up and for an 8:30am start

  • U9 - U17 families: Variable start times by age group. If you wish to participate in the 1500m run, please be ready and warmed up at the early start time of 9:40am. We will run several heats depending on number of participants and will aim to run the fastest race first. Please refer to the program for all details!

Duties:

  • U8 families: Set-up duty. We struggled again last week, so would really appreciate a good number of parents. Please remember that setup is a parent duty and not a committee duty. We simply can’t start the session on time if we don’t have sufficient help.
    As usual, you are also staffing the BBQ and Canteen in Session 1.

  • U11 families: Pack-up duty. Please remember to only sign out when we are finished packing up. In addition, you’re in charge of BBQ and Canteen in Session 2.

  • Front Straight and Back Straight scanning: Any age group! Fastest fingers first.

Please remember to bring water bottles, hats and sunscreen! Our coffee specialist Lenny and his crew will also be here to look after you. Drinks, snacks and BBQ will be available for purchase.

You can still donate to our Relayathon! If you make an online donation directly to the Good Friday Appeal in the next few weeks, send the receipt to mentonepresident@lavic.com.au and we’ll match the donation up to a limit of $1000. Can we match last year?

Next Saturday 7th March there will be no session at Mentone, with many of our athletes competing at the State Track and Field Championships in Knox. Good luck to everyone!
