On the weekend 33 Mentone athletes competed at the State Combined Event Championships at Lakeside stadium. We had competitors in all but one age group. Weather was somewhat hot but it didn’t bother our superstar athletes.

 

There were some fantastic results, medals, records broken, plenty of personal bests, some near misses and some injuries too. Our athletes all showed great sportsmanship and cheered on one another, and we are quite sure Mentone had the loudest podium cheers. Our parents commented that officials were clear in their communication, and also very caring and friendly.
